Welcome to our new Blog-site. We like weddings so much, we made our blog and website have one-- there was no ceremony or reception, but when the union was complete, we had cake and danced. We hope you enjoy our happy new home!

A Rustic D.I.Y. wedding: Industry Hills

We've been meaning to post Jennifer and Jason't beautiful wedding, and here it is!  Such an adorable and loving couple.  And Jennifer is a D.I.Y. hero.  She and her friends and family had so many personal, creative touches throughout.  We loved shooting these two!

Where It all Started: Jj and Lucinda's Enagement Session

We love stories of highschool sweethearts and Elementary crushes.  There's something real and honest about the idea of meeting your future husband or wife as a young child, not quite sure what all of the butterflies and sweaty palms are all about. It might be that it's so fascinating to us because we didn't meet until after college.  After the heart palpitations, and skipping of beats were no longer a thing of curious apprehension, but that of small components on a list to be checked off when choosing your potential spouse.  Luckily, we were able to check them off our list... before the background checks.  Jj and Lucinda told us their story.  The story of how they met.  How their first encounter was inside their first grade classroom and then years later (as adults) reuniting; instantly reliving the feelings of that school age crush.  Only to become inseperable and in love, and now, engaged.   We thought it would be fitting to recreate the place in which their history became their future:  a first grade classroom.  Everything else, the sweet stares, and true adoration-- that's all them.  They are two of the kindest, most easy-going, fun people we have ever had the privelge of knowing, and it was an honor to photograph them.  Our original plan was to just shoot a quick session for their save the dates and then do a session in Los Angeles later, but how could we not keep shooting them, right?  We can't wait for our next session!

New Beginnings: New Year

Dear Blog:

We've missed you. So much has been happening around us lately that I regret to say that we've been a bit neglectful with our blog posts.  We've had lots of beautiful weddings, engagements, births, parties, holiday card sessions.  It's been a perfect end to an unbelievable year.  We have been given so many gifts of kindness and love that we feel a bit unworthy, but mostly quite grateful.  So in these next couple of weeks expect to see evidence of all this- scouts honor. And I cannot defy the code of the Brownies/Girl Scouts (Taka coughs "Nerd" in background), I took an oath.  One of our aforementioned gifts came just in time for Christmas:  Our beyond adorable niece Sephina Scarlett Ball.  She was born a day before Christmas Eve-- smart girl, didn't want to share the limelight... and she'll never have to because, well, see pictures below!  We are so proud and excited to watch you grow (not too quickly) and be a part of our lives, Sephina.  And are twice as fortunate to now have two perfect girls we get to love and call our nieces!

Sneak Peek: La Canada Flintridge

This past weekend we had the honor of shooting Adele and Bruce's wedding at La Cananda Flintridge Country Club.  There were so many special personal touches that represented this wonderful couple, and there is a genuine place in our hearts for them.  We were filled with happy feelings as we chose the sneak peeks for their wedding day, but it was tough to make a decision, so this is more of a introduction than a sneak!  We hope you enjoy. More of this amazing couple to come.  And, Happy, Happy Thanksgiving!

Maternity Session with my Sis

Maternity shots with mom and baby bundle can be a little challenging.  The serenity and connection have to show through all the clicking and positioning, and shouting out orders.  No, don't worry, we never shout or give commands, or really pose too much for that matter, 'cause that's how we roll, and that's how we think we find you admist the jitters, awkward thoughts like, "ok, what do I do now that I'm out here in the middle of a corn maze barefoot and baby bump exposed?" Instead, we talk about your new exciting milestone, the cool fact that you decided to go barefoot in a corn maze, or how your baby just kicked you in the ribs because the country livin' doesn't agree with her so well.  Then we share a laugh, relax and start clicking away.  And all of this is cake when we were shooting my sister... well, maybe for us.  I don't know how easy it was for her, 7 months pregnant, walking through dirt hills in 90 degree weather, but that's my sister:  Adventurous, determined, and creative.  And so, the maternity shoot must go on!  We're glad it did because my sister makes a lovely mama in waiting (second time just as much as the first), and we get to have these images forever... oh and she does too.  And best bonus to a shoot ever:  my niece (first one) joined us for some fun shots with mom and baby sister-in-waiting after school!  We can't wait for our new niece to arrive, just before Christmas!
